As an avid reader and devoted fan to fitness, I felt compelled to write and spread my message to others. I have been "experimenting" with weights for the past six years or so. I started working out my first year of college and, from that point on, it became not only a hobby, but also a necessity. I have now competed in four natural bodybuilding shows and placed second, third, fourth and sixth. I have yet to place first, but it’s the hunger that makes me continue and hopefully succeed.

I admire bodybuilding/fitness as a sport--it's probably the most underrated sport in the United States. It is a challenging sport, because almost everything we do is governed by ourselves. We do not have any coaches or teams that we can share our ideas, thoughts or progress with. We do it on our own initiative, and we endure a lot more pain and stress than athletes in other sports. It's a blessing to be able to get up every morning and have the ability to endure a hard, yet needed, workout. I truly enjoy the grueling workouts and strict dieting--it is a true test of dedication, sacrifice, commitment and the absolute love for the sport. I had referred to working out as experimenting because we are similar to scientists in that we must test every angle, every muscle and every type of equipment before we can call it a law or principle.

I started learning about the sport when I was a child watching Arnold Schwarzenegger in movies like Commando, Predator and Raw Deal. I was blown away--I had never seen arms that big before. I began to educate myself about bodybuilding, and I tried to follow in his footsteps to develop a similar physique with superb symmetry, muscularity and proportion. Arnold is, and will always be, my favorite actor, bodybuilder, politician and role model. He set the stone for what is modern day Fitness. Fitness is an everyday thing; it doesn’t stop and should be a daily thing you incorporate in your lifestyle. In a world of extraordinary possibilities through medicine and herbal supplements, I still believe that the mind, body and soul are the most important weapons we have. Utilize them to their full capacity and you should succeed in all that you desire.
